Join schools from across the UK live on Zoom for the #BigStonePaint to mark Holocaust Memorial Day on 27 January 2022 at 9:30am. This is your class’ chance to take part in Foundation Stones and paint commemorative stones that will become part of the new UK Holocaust Memorial and Learning Centre next to the Houses of Parliament in London. Foundation Stones is inspired by the Jewish custom of leaving small stones on graves and every stone painted is a promise to remember the past and build a future free from hate. Hear from Ed Balls and Lord Pickles, the Co Chairs of the UK Holocaust Memorial Foundation, about our new national memorial and why it is so important for young people to get involved. Learn more about our connections with the story of the Holocaust and subsequent genocides here in the UK. To take part, book your place and provide every child with a small stone and some decorating materials - we recommend poster paints, paint pens or oil pastels. Be part of something special this Holocaust Memorial Day and book your school’s place here. For more information email [email protected]
